What are Scouts?
Scouts are a program for children aged 10½-14 years old that's part of The Scout Association. Scouts focuses include outdoor activities, skill development, and personal growth
Who can join Scouts?
Anyone aged 10½-14 years is welcome to join Scouts, regardless of their gender, race, background, or physical ability
What do Scouts do?
  • Learn New Skills: Scouts participate in activities like camping, hiking, swimming, and abseiling. They also learn about survival, cooking, and other traditional Scouting skills
  • Make friends: Scouts get to hang out with friends, play games, and work together on projects
  • Explore their beliefs: Scouts are encouraged to explore their beliefs and attitudes, and to be creative
  • Take on responsibility: Scouts learn by doing, and by taking responsibility for their actions
  • Give back to the community: Scouts can participate in community-based work, and plan games and activities for their meetings
  • What is the Scout uniform?
  • Scouts wear a green or blue (Air/Sea Scouts) shirt with badges sewn on
  • They also wear a colored scarf or "necker" to represent their local group
  • Optional accessories include hats, hoodies, navy blue trousers, or shorts
